An exodus of some of the better players on several teams will cause a regular season shakeup in the AUFL.
In the game of the week, Primal takes on the Untouchables. Clearly the best two teams in the league at this point, how
will they match up? There are mumblings around the league that due to a U of I tournament that weekend out of town, that
Primal will have to reschedule. This could result in a much more interesting game, depending on attendees. Primal boasts
a killer roster, but they will not beat the Untouchables with only 6 people. The Untouchables have good handles and the ability
to get things done, but their athleticism may actually be outmatched by Primal's. This will be a matchup of turnout. The
Untouchables take it if they play on Saturday as is. If they move the game and Primal can get their true team out, Primal
cruises to another win. The Untouchables are not dead in the water, however, and fantastic games by their top players could
turn the tide.
In the Whiskey Discs vs. Ski Unit game, a chance for the first Whiskey win is definitely there. Three of Ski Unit's main
five handlers will be gone for a tournament, leaving their other two to fill big shoes. Andrew Bielenda and Cory McManus
need to show their prowess in leading the offence. Whiskey and Mike Hastings look to shut them down. Look for Mike to have
no true match and take the game for Whiskey Discs.
Bombers vs. Fat-Free Yogurt offers an interesting hypothesis: can the Bombers beat anyone? Anyone at all? Fat-Free will
look to slow the pace against an aggressive Bombers team, and then force the Bombers into making poor decisions with the disc.
The Bombers will triumph, based on experience and athleticism, but Fat-Free will make it interesting, further cementing the
Bombers fall from grace. Look for Woo to talk a good amount of trash after this game, well-deserved of course. Nothing like
proving you're #7 baby!
The final game has all the makings of a barn-burner. B.I.G. will almost certainly have to reschedule this due to the
U of I tournament, but look for DGW to prove that they are no chumps. They have the abilities and the height to give B.I.G.
big problems. Only a tough game by the handlers of B.I.G. will keep this game close. If DGW develops a zone, game over.
If they play straight up and B.I.G. can even remotely affect the hucking game, they'll eke one out. Overall, B.I.G. takes
it, but it's going to be damn close.
