The skill in the AUFL has clearly increased, as this week's games proved. Experience will now play
a vital role.
In what was clearly the best game of the week, the 'Zillas pulled together a tough game to open their AUFL
careers. After total silence in the leadup to the season, their abilities and experience were in doubt, but they proved
that they had both a coherent and potent offense and the personnel to play solid defense. L-Boxxx
on the otherhand, while looking good, did not impress. They will need to regain their composure and cohesiveness to
return to power.
Ski Unit's game against B.I.G. is the biggest disapointment, as B.I.G failed to scrounge together 7 players.
The only saving grace is that they called to cancel instead of just not showing. Still, a bunch of school boy bitches,
I'd say.
The Untouchable v. Fat-Free game's score pretty much speaks for itself: 15-0. Ouch. Untouchables
looked nearly flawless.
In the game that certainly turned heads, the Bombers were assaulted by Primal, causing a joke of a game as
Primal did whatever they wanted up and down the field. It got out of hand rapidly, and only when Primal had it in the
bag did Bombers even manage to score. Bombers looked incoherent and constantly clogged the lane. Their throws
were subpar and they will need to drastically improve to be competitive this year.
In this week's Predictions, the game of the week is a toss-up. In terms of show-up or shut-up, the Untouchables
v. Bombers game looks good. The Bombers are clearly reeling, and a second straight loss is clearly on its way.
The Untouchables are too solid and the Bombers too lost to make this close, but the amusement value in seeing this game is
high. Untouchables win big, by at least 7.
The other good game will be between Ski Unit and the 'Zillas. Ski Unit will be having its first real
game against a team coming off a win. Ski Unit was said to look drastically improved during scrimmage, so this game
could be close. 'Zillas have a tall weapon, but Ski Unit's handlers should be the difference. Ski Unit in a close
game.
L-Boxxx v. B.I.G. is a total unknown. Who shows up for who? It could be close, but L-Boxxx's readiness
from this week's game should propel them over a totally unorganized B.I.G. Only if B.I.G. were to bring a full roster
will this game be close, and I don't see that happening. L-Boxxx wins by 4.
Primal will kill Fat-Free, but look for Fat-Free to have improved over last week. Good spirit in their
second super-tough game in a row would be the best start they could expect to their season.
